Passionate researcher with 10 years of post-PhD experience in diverse area of plant molecular biology, Vitiviniculture, plant physiology, Plant pathology, genetic engineering and modern genome editing technology, tissue culture, biochemistry, nanotechnology, biocontrol agents development and formulations, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics. The research profile includes 1745 citations, H index-20 and 94 peer reviewed published scientific communications including 1 granted patent and 1 provisional submission recently. I gained academic and industrial research experience while working in national and international institutes and industries of good repute. I did my first postdoc project (September 2013- January 2016) at department of Biology, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal where I studied the recalcitrance nature of Hypericum perfoliatum and the complex molecular mechanism with its interaction to Agrobacterium tumefaciens. During this tenure, I had an opportunity to supervise a team of 3 young researchers (one PhD and 2 master students) where I was responsible to design the experimental setup and ensuring the high value results. I started my second postdoc (July 2016-March 2020) in Department of Agronomy, Vitiviniculture lab, University of Tras-O-Montes and Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal. My studies were based on grapevines during this project; which brought me plenty of experience in metabolomics pathway engineering, CRISPR mediated genome editing in grapevine, team leading, industrial experience and communication with stake holders. During this tenure, I have been working as a senior member in the lab and management of one research line in the INNOVINE&WINE Innovation platform of Vineyard and Wine (cofinanced by European Regional Development Fund, FEDER, with a total budget of 5 293 984,76 ) project. I have been leading a team of 7 peoples (supervise 2 MSc) for performing large scale field trials on different vineyards in Douro region. The research was performed in collaboration with academia and industries and the major outcome during this work was chitosan based nanomaterial preparation and application in vineyards. The findings were promising which was patented nationally and for European Union territories; while several good articles have been published. Additionally; my research has been ranked second for ENOFORUM AWARD in The Spanish edition of Enoforum 2020 among 35 scientific works in the wine sector from 21 research groups of different countries. After 2 postdoc projects, I moved to Ireland to gain experience in industrial research and started working as Principal Investigator in MBIO (Bio-control group, Monaghan Biosciences, Monaghan county, Ireland). Major duties during this tenure were leading the team of scientists, technicians and research trainees, Project management, establishment of new research facilities, Collaborations with universities. I have been also responsible for scale-up process development, validation of biocontrol/bio stimulants/plant growth promoting biological products and product commercialization. Later I joined as PhD researcher (January 2022-December 2022) in InnovPlantProtect Collaborative Laboratory, Department of Protection of Specific Crops, Elvas, Portugal where 1 provisional patent have been submitted within a year of my tenure. Currently i am working as Researcher biologist in UTAD. I did my PhD from Plant Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering Department, Defense Institute of Bioenergy Research, India. Recently I have been invited as an external expert by National Research and Development Agency (ANID), Government of Chile for evaluation of research proposals for national funding. Additionally i have been interviewed by french magazine regarding my recent research in Grapevine as a new and sustainable practice in vitiviniculture.
