David Emanuel Pimentel Gonçalves obtained his PhD in 2016/09/26 by Universidade do Porto - Faculdade de Engenharia and his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 also by Universidade do Porto - Faculdade de Engenharia. The candidate has published 18 articles in speciallized journals and has a h-index of 10 with 209 citations in Scopus database. His PhD was financed directly by FCT through an individual PhD scholarship. In 2017 the applicant has also won a grant from the IACOBUS exhange programme. During his activities has researcher, the candidate has interacted and collaborated with 35 other researchers from different Universities (national and international) some which are also co-authors of his scientific works. In the context of his activity and scientific production the most frequent key-words are: mechanical engineering, tribology, gearboxes, rolling bearings, machine elements, greases, lubriocants, experimental testing, friction torque. The candidate participated in several different scientific projects but also R&D industrial collaborations. Besides research, the candidate has also made important contributions to the transfer of knowledge by participating in dissemination activities and scientific meetings on the topic of Tribology. The applicant also took part in teaching activities in the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and the Superior Institute of Engineering of Porto (ISEP), giving classes on mechanics, machine elements and the topics of contact mechanics and lubrication.
