I am currently a postdoc researcher at CIBIO/BIOPOLIS in the research group BIODESERTS. I concluded my Master in Ecology, Biodiversity and Ecosystems in 2011 at the University of Aveiro and my PhD at 2022 at University of Porto. I work mostly on Genetics, Metabarcoding and Ecology but also have some ongoing work on ecotoxicology. My main focus has been the study of the microbiome of amphibians and how it is affected by ecological factors, but I also work on several other different subjects including the toxic effects of environmental contaminants on amphibians and other freshwater organisms. I have collaborated in studies assessing the trophic networks in diverse communities and in surveys of desert fauna from different taxonomic groups (amphibians, reptiles, insects, scorpions, birds, mammals). I published 16 papers in peer-review journals, 6 as main author. and have 3 under revision.
