Dr Garcia-Pomar is an expert in nanophotonics and plasmonics. He made his PhD at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (CSIC). During his career he carried out several postdoctoral fellowships at Fraunhofer Institute in Germany or the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) among others. Currently, he is a Marie Curie fellow at International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in Portugal. Dr. Garcia-Pomar has been co-author of more than 30 publications which have been cited more than 750 times (SCOPUS), with an average in the last 5 years of 86 citations per year and with an h-index equal to 11. He is first or second author in mostly of the papers and usually have a very short co-author list, in journals with high impact factor. He has more than 25 conference contributions (i.e. invited talk to Metamaterials 2018, SPIE Photonic West, etc.). The main research topics of Dr. Garcia-Pomar are nanophotonics and plasmonics in metasurfaces and 2-D materials. He was awarded with several fellowships, recently (2018) he has obtained a Marie Curie grant. Previously, he was awarded with different grants in competitive calls as I3P CSIC Program (4 years), Mobility program for doctors in foreign countries MEC (Fraunhofer Institute, 13 months), postdoctoral JAE-DOC Program CSIC(3 years) and the Iberoamerican Scholarships for young researchers from Foundation Bank Santander (University of Chile, 3 months). During his graduate and post-graduate work he has been part of more than 10 national and international projects (Regional, National, European Union, ERC). As IP recently in a MSCA-IF project No: 840064. He has been working in an international environment in collaboration with several foreign institutions as Duke University (USA), Ames laboratory at Iowa State University (USA), Institut für Angewandte Physik KIT (Germany), Fraunhofer Institute (Germany) and CSIC (Spain), among others. In the context of participation in industrial innovation, he started his research career in an industrial project in the Uralita Group about a design and fabrication of a composite material which should absorb the electromagnetic waves in the range of mobile phone communications and he was involved in the project SINFOTON where Airbus, INDRA, Ferrovial and ADIF among others are associated companies. With respect the supervision of students, Dr Garcia-Pomar has co-supervised 1 undergraduate and 2 master students, 1 PhD student and 1 postdoc researcher.
