Graça Sofia Nunes has a degree in marine biology from the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the Algarve. She is currently in the second year of her master's programme in marine ecology at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Her master's thesis investigates the effects of climate change on phytoplankton communities in the Ross Sea (Antarctica) using remote sensing techniques. Graça Sofia's main areas of interest are polar ecology, climate change, the impact of anthropogenic activities on the ecosystem, phytoplankton and science communication.
