Tânia Moniz (TM) has a BSc (2009) and MSc (2011) in Biochemistry, all by UPorto. In 2016, TM completed the PhD degree in Sustainable Chemistry, at UPorto and New ULisbon. A small part of the PhD curricular path was performed in Univ. Valencia (Spain). The work focuses on the control of infection by iron chelation. Between 2016 and 2019, TM developed a Post-Doc in LAQV@ REQUIMTE, at Fac. Sciences, University of Porto (UP). She started to work on plants’ nutrition, integrating the project PTDC/AGR-PRO/3515/2014 in the field of plants’ nutrition. In 2019, TM moved to LAQV@REQUIMTE at Fac. Pharmacy (UP) as Researcher in project “3DS-Transdermal Drug Delivery” where she joined in the world of nanotechnology. Between 2020-21 she was a member of 2 projects “NANO2PREVENT” and “C19-VISUALDETECT”. In 2021 she was awarded as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project NANOFERTIL (EXPL/QUI-QIN/0411/2021). From November 2021 to the present, she is working as a researcher at LAQV@REQUIMTE and she is mainly focused on the design of molecules and materials for biomedical, agricultural, and environmental applications, employing her strong knowhow on synthetic chemistry, spectroscopy, drug delivery systems, and the study of structure-activity relationships. She is author of 48 papers (some resulting from her international collaborations) and she participated in at least 12 research projects as well as in 22 oral and 41 poster communications in national and international conferences. From 2021 to the present, she was contracted as Invited Assistant Professor (ICBAS, UP) as a teacher of 3 curricular units of Bioengineering BsC course and Integrated Master in Veterinary Sciences. In 2023, TM have one child and interrupted her career during the maternity leave.
