Rodrigo Narciso is currently a PhD student in Biology from Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto and integrates the i3S and LAQV-REQUIMTE institutes. He has a Advanced Studies degree (2023) in Scientific and Technology Project from Faculty of Sciences of Unviersity of Porto, Bachelor's and a Master's degrees (2020) in Cellular and Molecular Biology (2022), from NOVA School of Science and Technology and Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto, respectively. He has been a research intern in CEDOC, iMM, IGC and FCUP-LAQV/REQUIMTE. His current line of research focuses on the host-foodborne pathogen interactions and sustainable control strategies, using advanced microbiological, molecular biology and -omics tools. Other research interests are the molecular interactions in insects-microbes interactions and microbiome analysis. He is the first author of 1 published international research article (Q1 Journal) and the second author of another submitted international research article (Q1 Journal). Has been awarded with 2 research fellowships (2021/2022; 2023), integrating 1 national project (DrosuGreen) - explored microbiomes as novel pest biocontrol tools and host response to bacteria exposure- and 1 co-promotion national project (STOP.SUZUKII) - fruit microbiome analysis upon different storage conditions to prolong shelf-life and an on-going doctoral fellowship (awarded by FCT). He has participated in 1 national congress as speaker and has organized >4 scientific events/seminars.
