Henrique completed the Masters in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Neurosciences in 2022. Henrique had his first approach with scientific investigation with research project "Role of Mitochondria-Derived Damage-Associated Molecular Patterns associated to extracellular microvesicles in promoting early microglia-mediated pro-inflammatory response in neurodegenerative disorders" developed within Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology's group MitoXT under the tutelage of Prof. Carla Lopes. As a result of his training, Henrique has developed expertise in cell culture of various cell lines (such as murine microglia and human fibroblasts) and methods such as mitochondrial extraction and RNA quantification.
