Cristiana Gonçalves completed her degree in Biological Engineering in 2006, earning two merit prizes and achieving a final grade of 16. In 2011, at the age of 28, she obtained her Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Minho. During her Ph.D., she also taught Experimental Sciences to primary school students and provided workplace safety training in 2011. In 2012, she returned to research at LSRE/FEUP, focusing on Chemical, Environmental, and Biotechnology Engineering in an industrial context. In 2013, she began a postdoctoral fellowship at 3Bs Research Group, collaborating with Stemmatters (until 2015) in Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine, emphasizing Chemical and Materials Science Engineering. She was awarded an FCT Postdoctoral grant in 2014 and began a junior researcher contract in 2019. Cristiana has 34 publications indexed in Web of Science, authored 9 book chapters, and holds 3 international patents. Her h-index ranges from 17 (Web of Science) to 20 (Google Scholar). She has been invited to serve as a jury member (main arguer) for 6 master's dissertations and has unofficially co-supervised 2 Ph.D. theses. She has completed 45 verified peer reviews and is currently guest editor of a special issue for the "Journal of Functional Biomaterials" (MDPI) and editor for two journals, "Applied Rheology" and "Open Chemistry" (De Gruyter). She organized 4 scientific events and contributed to preparing 4 international projects (2 M-ERA-NET, 2 LaCaixa, and HORIZON-RESILIENCE).
