I am an Auxiliary Researcher in C2TN of Instituto Superior Técnico, with a PhD in Pharmacy and Health (2023) from University of Salamanca and a Master in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2011). My research focus is mainly the application of ionizing radiation technologies to develop new methodologies for the treatment of industrial wastes, as well as for the valorization of naturally occurring bioactive compounds to be reused as new ingredients in other industries (pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food). I have published 37 scientific documents, including research articles, reviews and 2 book chapters. I have been an invited reviewer of scientific papers in different editors and journals (16 journals) and guest editor of special issues in MDPI. I have international and national collaborations and I have been participated in several research projects (11). My scientific work has led to the supervision and training of PhD (1 ongoing), Master (1 ongoing) and Bachelor students. I have been member of organizing committees of scientific meetings, presented invited lectures in national and international meetings, and have 48 oral/poster communications. I have been played a role in the dissemination of Ionizing Radiation Technologies in universities and schools and I was part of the teaching staff at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (Escola Superior de Tecnologia do Barreiro), and I have been teaching some classes periodically in Instituto Superior de Agronomia and in FCT-NOVA. Furthermore, I was board member of the Group of Portuguese Young Chemists (2021-2023) and I belonged to both the European and International Young Chemists Networks (EYCN and IYCN).
