Filipa Ventura holds a Junior Researcher position at The Health Sciences Research Unit: Nursing, hosted by the Nursing School of Coimbra. She has a PhD in Health Care Sciences by the Sahlgrenska Academy (2016), University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and a MSs in Nursing by the same Institution (2011). Filipa has attended and implementation science masterclass held by the Swiss Impact Network, Basel University and is participating in the Evidence Implementation Training Program held by Portugal Center for Evidence Based Pratice: a JBI excellence centre. Filipa is a Registered Nurse since 2005 (nursing graduate with 16 values by the former Nursing School of Bissaya Barreto, Coimbra) with post-graduate specialisation in oncological nursing (2009, University West, Trollhättan, Sweden). Filipa worked both as a general nurse and an oncology nurse, in Portugal and in Sweden, for about seven years. Her most recently work experience as a nurse was at Jubileumskliniken, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, in an outpatient oncological ward, where she was the contact nurse for about 20 individuals undergoing chemotherapy in the context of various cancer diagnoses. Filipa is the principal investigator of one project, regional coordinator of an international research work and collaborates as an investigator in other projects. She has an established publication track of international scientific peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and conferences. She has participated in conferences’ scientific committees and in the organisation of scientific events. Filipa is the co-supervisor of two PhD students and an invited assistant lecturer at the Nursing School of Coimbra, teaching on research methods and in the person-centred care domain. Filipa was awarded with the Thesis of the year 2016 for her PhD thesis and best poster award at EANS summer conference 2014. She integrated the telenursing task force of the Portuguese Order of Nurses as expert. In the domain of health care sciences she carries out research to support the person undergoing cancer treatment in illness assessment and management grounded on person-centred care principles and through eHealth. From the methodological point of view, she is interested on research methods that allow exploring complex eHealth interventions, particularly pragmatic trials, mixed methods and interpretive description.
