I graduated in Physics Engineering by the University of Porto in 2010 and obtained a PhD degree in Physics in 2014 in a joint investigation carried out at the University of Porto, the University of Lisbon and the on-line isotope mass separator ISOLDE facility located at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Switzerland. Among others, I have been Postdoctoral researcher at the IKS institute at KU Leuven, Belgium, and CICECO at the University of Aveiro. I am currently a junior researcher working at IFIMUP - University of Porto. The main topic of my research is the computation and dimensioning of caloric systems using the heatrapy Python module, developed by me, the COMSOL multiphysics software and the scikit-learn Python library. I am the PI of the FCT project PTDC/EME-TED/3099/2020 ("Demagnetizing-based magnetocaloric refrigeration"). So far, I have been author or coauthor of 37 publications, co-inventor of one patent and author of 5 software packages.
