Mehmooda Maqsood

I am a PhD candidate in at the University of Coimbra in the program Cities and Urban Cultures. I have a joint M.sc in Regional Planning Development and Management from Technical University of Dortmund, Germany and University of Austral Chile and a bachelors degree in Architecture Design from the National College of Arts Lahore. Previously, I have conducted research on morphological urban form in Chile, and worked on projects related to socio-spatial community development, with a focus on housing, habitat and habitability in Pakistan and Nepal. My teaching experience includes developing and teaching courses called Design for Social Change, and Environment, Architecture and Identity alongside coordinating thesis year at the Architecture department at Indus Valley School for Arts and Architecture. I headed the research lab Architectural Design Research Lab(ADRL) from December 2021 till January 2024. I am an active part of the SIADP and Alumni portal Deutschland, and has participated in conferences that focus on inclusive, trans-formative, and adaptive planning procedures.
