I´m a molecular microbiology specialized in S. aureus and cell wall. I concluded my phD in 2022 at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, may phD focused on the charecterization of two proteins from S.aureus and their impact in virulence, to develop a new antimicroabial target. During my academic carrier I received 3 different research grants, to study the antimicrobial resistance in S.aureus, to study the growing copper resistance in S.aureus and Enterococcus and to identify the bacteria community in aquaculture. These differents research have allowed me to develop several skills in differente scientific areas, namely: i) Microbiology and Molecular Biology of Gram-positive pathogens. (ii) Antibiotic Resistance mechanisms in Gram-positive Bacteria. (iii) Bacterial interaction with the host. (iv) Characterization of the cell wall biosynthesis pathway. (v) identification of new targets for the design of antimicrobial drugs. (vi ) Bacterial identification and microplastic identification in aquaculture water. Currently I work as a Post Doctorate Researcher for the Egas Moniz Interdisciplinary Research Centre (CiiEM) of the Egas Moniz School of Health & Sciences.
