Miguel Tábuas-Pereira é um neurologista dedicado a alterações cognitivas e comportamentais, sendo o actual co-responsável da consulta de Demências dos CHUC. Dedica-se a demências degenerativas: doença de Alzheimer, Demência Frontotemporal e Demência de Corpos de Lewy, em todas as suas fases - desde a fase pré-sintomática, defeito cognitivo ligeiro ou demência. Embora interessado em todo o espectro de conhecimento nesta área, foca-se nos biomarcadores diagnósticos e prognósticos. Actualmente, dedica o seu doutoramento a alterações genéticas associadas a estas demências. Publicou 100 artigos em revistas especializadas. Participou em 15 ensaios clínicos.
