Raquel Ruivo is presently a contracted Researcher in Universidade do Porto Centro Interdisciplinar de Investigação Marinha e Ambiental (CIIMAR-UP), Co-PI of the Endocrine Disruptors and Emergent Contaminants team, and collaborator of the Animal and Genetics team. RR holds a PhD in Sciences de la vie, biologie, santé from the Université Paris-Sud Faculté de Médecine (2009) and a Biology degree (Licenciatura) from the Universidade de Aveiro (2005). In 2015, RR completed a postgraduate course in Viticulture and Oenology from the Universidade do Porto and is currently attending the 3rd year of a Bachelor in History from Universidade de Coimbra. RR has published 55 articles in international peer-reviewed journals (h index 15; 852 citations), including high impact journals such as PNAS, Molecular Biology and Evolution, Nucleic Acids Research or Current Biology; and co-authored 1 book chapter and participated in 1 registered patent. RR participates and/or participated as supervisor/co-supervisor in 4 PhDs, including 1 international PhD (co-tutorship), and 4 MSc theses (3 MSc concluded). RR also supervised 21 works of course completion of LSc/BSc and 3 bachelor-level volunteer internships. RR participated/participates as Principal Investigator in 2 projects, including 1 transnational cooperation project, and as Co-Principal Investigator in 2 national projects, as well as Researcher in 11 projects, including 3 international collaborations (Norway & France). RR presented her research in international meetings (Vienna Austria, Rennes France, Uppsala Sweden, Galway Ireland, Porto, Portugal). RR contributes regularly to the CIIMAR Educational Program and Outreach activities, both through content development and presentation to schools and to the general public. Works in the areas of Natural sciences with emphasis on Biological Sciences, Evolutionary Biology, Molecular Biology and Earth and Environmental Sciences.
