Ana Carvalheira is an assistant professor and integrated researcher at the William James Center for Research, ISPA - University Institute, Lisbon. Ana Carvalheira develops research in the field of human sexuality since 1999. First research project was on online sexual behaviors (published in 2003). Completed PhD in Psychology of Sexuality (summa cum laude) in 2006 at University of Salamanca with a FCT grant for a research project on intimate relationships and sexual behaviors through the Internet. Carvalheira completed a postdoc in 2006-2012 at Ispa in colaboration with Sexual Health Laboratory, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. During this period she discussed her projects at the Kinsey Institute as a visiting researcher. Ana C. was president of the Portuguese Society of Clinical Sexology in 2011/2013. Her clinical research derives from her clinical activity as a psychotherapist trained in various therapeutic models. Graduated as clinical psychologist at the University of Coimbra in 1995, Carvalheira completed a MSc degree in Clinical Neuropsychology in 2003 at the University of Salamanca.
