Diana Peixoto completed the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra (FFUC) in 2020. During the academic path, Diana demonstrated enthusiasm on contact with scientific research and a strong will to learn. In 2018, Diana initiated an extracurricular internship in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology of the FFUC, and in 2019 was one of the awarded students by the financed Maria de Sousa Summer Research Program. Diana collaborated in 6 publications, including 5 articles published in specialized and indexed scientific journals and 1 book chapter. Special mention to Diana's first authorship in a paper recently published in Coordination Chemistry Reviews journal (Q1, IF > 15), resulting from her MSc thesis. Diana has contributed to the organization of 6 scientific events and participated in a total of 22. Her passion for scientific research has been the driving force behind her academic and professional choices. Diana has chosen this path due to the vastness of unsolved questions in the medical and health sciences field, particularly the ones related to cancer. Thereby, her research interests are related to the nanomedicine field, especially in the study of innovative nanotechnological approaches for cancer treatment. Diana is an extremely motivated, creative, and hard-worker professional. Diana's academic background provides her with strong scientific knowledge, aligned with powerful communication skills, critical thinking, and a goal-oriented attitude. Currently, Diana is a PhD Student on Pancreatic Cancer-targeted nano-based, multimodal and biomimetic strategies for improved therapeutics.
