Nuna Gabriela Lima da Costa holds a master’s degree in Textile Engineering from University of Minho (UM). Currently, she attends the second year of the Doctoral Program in Textile Engineering by UM with an FCT fellowship in non-academic environment. She developed her master's thesis entitled "Development of an electrochemical biosensor integrated in the steering wheel textile-based covering to detect alcohol in sweat", both in academic and in non-academic environment, with the support of two companies of the Copo Group (Centro Tecnológico de Grupo Copo SL (CETEC) and COPO TÊXTIL PORTUGAL SA). This doctoral program has allowed her to obtain key competences in electrochemistry and molecular biology, particularly in the characterization and analysis of textile-based electrochemical biosensors through electrochemical techniques such as voltammetry and impedance spectroscopy. She also acquired skills in the synthesis and characterization of molecularly imprinted polymers as well as in the modification of surfaces and physico-chemical characterization through Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Thermogravimetric (TGA/DTG), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and Gas Chromatography (GC) techniques.
