I did a bachelor's in Biology and Geology, and a master's in Applied Biology (both at Universidade de Aveiro), During my academic years I participated in all kinds of activities, such as lectures, workshops, mentorship program, and volunteer work. I was also in the organizing team behind the II Encontro Nacional de Estudantes de Biologia e Geologia). During my master I've developed an interest in scientific work. My master thesis was about the impact of terracing on the soil arthropods, gaining hands on experience on arthropods collection and identification (2 submitted papers). The grant on the ASHES project - about ash contamination of soil and water streams, gave me the opportunity to work on a scientific team and developed important skills. On the WAFLE project my work was divided between the collection and treatment of meteorological and hydrological data on the Caramulo (Águeda) water streams, and supervising the experiment planned during the ASHES grant. In the last year I've improved my skills of time management, teamwork, and critical scientific thinking. I'm very proactive, and passionate about fieldwork, and ecosystem conservation. I do volunteer work with Associação Bioliving (nature conservation and environmental education), and often do activities as a monitor (Halloween event: "Criaturas das Trevas", and other events "Pateira sobre Rodas", "Sem filtros" and "ecoLUSITANICA 2.0" - where I worked has a coordinator of fieldwork activities. I also participant in many other activities mostly related with nature conservation (such as tree plantations and invasive species control). Now, I want the opportunity to learn how to improve soil quality, while also improving the life of the little fellows that move the world - pollinators!
