Jose Miranda Guedes, obtained his "Agregação" (Habilitation) degree in 2010 at "Universidade de Lisboa, Instituto Superior Tecnico", Portugal and his PhD degree in Applied Mechanics at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA in 1990. Presently he is Professor at the Mechancial Engineering Department of the "Instituto Superior Tecnico, Universidade de Lisboa", Portugal. He published 48 research papers, participated in the organization of 6 scientific events, and in 14 research projects, being the PI in 3 of them. His research interest are on computational mechanics, structural optimization, homogenization, and material optimization.
