Maria Filomena de Osório Pinto dos Santos Figueiredo is a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Coimbra and teaches as a Full Professor in the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra. Published more than 160 papers in peer-reviewed journals, as well as more than 30 conference papers. Published as co-author a chapter in an academic specialized book. Currently supervises 3 Ph.D. thesis. Participated as PI in 4 projects and as an investigator in more than 15 projects. Specialized in the Monte Carlo simulation of physical phenomena in gaseous detectors. Head of the Gaseous Detectors R&D at LIP Coimbra, member of the i-Astro (Space Instrumentation for Astrophysics) group at LIP Coimbra and member of the NEXT Collaboration.
