Sandra Barata Antunes completed her MSc in Biomedical Science from the University of Beira Interior in 2016. Her MSc work consisted in the study of the role of histamine on the modulation of hippocampal inflammation and neurogenesis in adult mice, which resulted in 2 co-authored papers published in international peer-reviewed journals. Currently, she is a phD student (PhD programme in Applied Health Sciences) at Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS, School of Medicine, University of Minho) under the supervision of António Salgado. Her current research work is focused on the development of nanosystems for the delivery of cellular secretome in the context of Parkinson's Disease.
