Ana Rita Araújo started her academic journey in 2006 at the Institute of Engineering of Porto (ISEP), completing her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering by 2011 with a final grade of 15/20. During her master's, she participated in the Erasmus Program, studying at Kaho Sint-Lieven University in Gent. In 2011, she joined the 3Bs Research Group, working as a researcher in the GlueCork project, an industrial-academic partnership focused on cork-based by-products. She continued to be involved in various projects, some co-funded by the European Commission (e.g., FP7, H2020), and contributed to the functionalization of 2D surfaces for biosensing applications as part of the Find & Bind project. She began her Ph.D. studies at UM in 2015 and was awarded a Ph.D. scholarship in the Doctoral Programme in Advanced Therapies for Health (PATH) in 2017, working at the CIQUS Lab in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Her Ph.D. research focused on natural-based compounds as anti-bacterial, anti-UV, and anti-amyloidogenic agents for Alzheimer's disease. She has (co-)authored 10 peer-reviewed papers, a book chapter, and published conference abstracts. She delivered 10 oral communications and presented 10 posters. She received the Young Biophysicist 2021 prize from the Portuguese Society of Biophysics. She served as a board member of the Portuguese Young Chemists group (GQJ) and represented Portugal in the 13th Delegates Assembly of the European Young Chemists Network (EYCN) from 2016 to 2018. She was involved in organizing the 1st European Young Chemists Meeting (EYCheM) in 2016. In 2018, she became a founding member of the PhDynamics Group within the 3Bs Research Group and contributed to projects like Chem2Nature and NORTHERN DISCOVERIES CTR financed by the EC and Norte2020 regional program. She is responsible for the Chemistry Laboratory at the 3Bs lab (UM) and is currently a Post-doc researcher at the 3Bs Research Group (UM).
