Angelo M Figueiredo is an experienced Research Scientist devoted most of his career to application and development of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy as a major biophysical technique for structural & dynamical studies of biomolecules. He has been working as NMR facility manager at the NMR centre of Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology (ISMB) at University College London, UK. Here, has been involved and collaborating in multiple scientific projects, providing not only technical expertise but also leadership abilities, coordinating input from academic and postdoctoral staff, and students. As a problem solver with a passion for theoretical and technical detail he develops creative and effective solutions for the extend range of emerging problems, not only tools (i.e. programming skills - Python, Matlab and C++) but also new concepts and ideas. The range of projects and ideas involved span from physical-chemistry to life sciences is referee for specialised Journals from Royal Society of Chemistry and American Chemical Society. During his Phd and Postdoc studies have gained a broad range of scientific skills including ITC, DSC and EPR in order to explore biomolecular interactions and protein stability. Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating and team building (Supervision of 1 PhD Student, 2 Master Students and 4 Diploma Students; Lecturer/Tutor in seminars/courses across Europe) Able to develop and organise project ideas in order to delivery and present research results (publications, conferences, meetings), as well as management (funding applications, grants, awards) and communication skills
