T. Neuparth hold a PhD in Environmental Sciences (2004) at Faculty of Sciences and Technology of NOVA University of Lisbon, with part of the PhD work developed at Texas A&M and Texas Tech Universities, USA. Since then, she has carried out 13 years of Postdoctoral research. The first 4 years at NOVA University of Lisbon and at Wales/Plymouth Universities, UK and the last 9 at CIIMAR. In her Postdoc positions, she developed integrative research in toxicogenomics, genotoxicity and chronic life-cycle studies to evaluate the effects of environmental contaminants, which led to publish several papers in leading journals. Since 2018, T. Neuparth has been a senior researcher at CIIMAR, Endocrine Disruptors and Emerging Contaminants Group-EDEC, first as Auxiliar researcher, and after getting a CEEC as Principal Investigator in 2022, she passed to a permanent position at CIIMAR. She is conducting research on hazard, risk assessment and management of environmental contaminants. These studies involve mainly multi-level markers (molecular, biochemical and ecological) in full life-cycle, multi and transgenerational bioassays. T. Neuparth has also been involved in the preparedness to HNS spills and in studying the impacts of deep-sea mining. Over the past 4 years, she has expanded her scientific interests to Transgenerational Epigenetic studies in the context of environmental sciences, having already published 4 ISI papers (three papers as1st author and corresponding author; one as 2nd author and one with Impact Factor of 9.62). T. Neuparth is author of 58 papers in ISI journals (75% in Q1), approximately 65% as first, second, last or corresponding author. From 2002, her H-index is 20 in Scopus (Google scholar H-index is 23). It is worthy to note that T. Neuparth autonomy and scientific production (quantity and quality), was substantially increased from 2018, when she became Auxiliary Researcher at CIIMAR-EDEC group. In the past 5 years, she produced 56% of her papers, 80% in Q1 journals, 67% in the percentile 90% or above and approximately 40% as first, second, last or corresponding author. Also, 9 of her papers were distinguished with the IACOBUS PAPERS award. Since 2018, she started to build her research team at EDEC having already concluded with success the supervision of 1 PhD, 6 MSCs, 4 MSCs Erasmus Mundi and 13 BScs students, and currently supervising 2 PhDs and 4 MSCs Erasmus Mundi. T.Neuparth has also participated in international/national meetings with more than 50 presentations; and in 2018 was part of the organizing committee of an international conference. She is contributing to scientific reviewing in 18 ISI journals with impact factor in Environmental Sciences and as guest editor of 2 special issues in Toxics - Q1 journal (2021- 2022). She taught Biology and Ecology at Universidade Aberta (2008-2016), gave lectures in the Course of Laboratory Animals Sciences (2017 to 2021) and to secondary school teachers (2017). During her scientific career, T. Neuparth participated in 22 research projects (national/ international), 11 of these in the past 5 years. She is currently PI of TRANSEPIC project (FCT financed). Also She is PI at CIIMAR of the BlueWWater project that is a step forward of the international project NOR-Water (2019-2022) where she was PI. NOR-Water Project and BlueWWater gave her the opportunity to collaborate with sound Spanish and Portuguese institutions involved in the assessment and management of CECs and outreach activities for stakeholders and society. These collaborations have already produced 7 papers in ISI journals. Among other aims, these 2 projects has created a network that puts together more than 25 stakeholders with different background interests in the problematic of CECs. As a whole, TNeuparth has a solid scientific network (national/international ) that also engages stockholders, which is paramount to deliver solutions related to aquatic systems health and their sustainable use.
