Graduated in History by the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, master in History of the 19th and 20th Centuries (section of the 20th century) by the same faculty and post-graduated in Documentation Sciences (Archives) by the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon, she is a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History of the New University of Lisbon. In 2009 started working at National Theater Dona Maria II (TNDM II) and took the direction of the newly created Department for Documentation and Heritage, a service that coordinates since 2010, with responsibilities in several areas: i) management, conservation and treatment of archives and collections in the custody of the TNDM II's Library|Archive, whose mission is to safeguard and conserve the valuable documental heritage of the National Theater, promoting the study, investigation and dissemination of its collections and specialized archives in the area of the performing arts, within the framework of new technologies of information and communication (textual, photographic collections, costumes and props, audiovisual files); ii) management of TNDM II's Bookshop; iii) coordination of the Theater's editorial project along with the Artistic Direction and the Administration Board, in addition to the editorial production of several editions; iv) coordination of the Theater exhibition project, exhibition curator and coordinator of specialized teams and technical projects, as well as internship and volunteer programs, in its areas of expertise; v) coordination of national and international projects financed by European or other funds, in the area of documentation and heritage. Prior to TNDM II's work, Cristina Faria was consultant on several archival and research projects, with emphasis on the coordination and management of cultural projects in the area of documentation and heritage sciences, the organization and treatment of collections (namely theatrical - see OPSIS, ROSSIO, OSÓRIO MATEUS projects), database management and the implementation and development of information systems to make electronic resources available online.
