Beatriz Serambeque concluded a BSc in Biotechnology (Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra) in 2015 and a MSc in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Faculty of Pharmacy of University of Coimbra) in 2018. Currently, she is undertaking her doctorate in Health Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine of University of Coimbra and is a Research Grant Holder of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia hosted at the Centre for Innovative Biomedicine and Biotechnology (CIBB), University of Coimbra. Her main scientific interest is the Health Sciences area, particularly Oncobiology. In this field, she has studying the characterization of endometrial cancer stem cells isolated from human cancer cell lines and human tumor samples, as well as the evaluation of the response to conventional and innovative therapeutic approaches, such as targeted photodynamic therapy to endometrial cancer stem cells.
