In 2012 I started my 1st cycle degree in Biochemistry at University of Évora. During my firsts 3 academic years I developed my knowledge and my skills in different subareas of biochemistry and in last year I had a first contact with research through a scientific initiation grant in area of materials chemistry. In 2015 I started my master´s degree also at University of Évora. After the first year of the master's degree, the opportunity arose to integrate a research grant in the area of Organic Synthesis at the University of Aveiro under Project nº PTDC / QEQQOR / 6160/2014 under the guidance of Doctor Augusto C. Tomé, whose theme was "Thiazolothiazoles for dye-sensitized solar cells ". This project allowed me to carry out my master's dissertation with the theme ¿Diketopyrrolopyrroles for dye-sensitized solar cells¿. After that experience, I was sure that it was a life linked to the research I wanted to follow and somehow contribute to the evolution of society and science. So, I had the opportunity to continue with the research grant and develop my work. In November of 2018 I started my PhD through an FCT grant with the theme ¿Diketopyrrolopyrroles-based dyes for dye-sensitized solar cells¿, during the first year I synthetized different diketopyrrolopyrroles derivatives to apply in dye-sensitized solar cells. In 2020, I received a Fulbright grant that allowed me to develop some of my PhD work at UNC Charlotte, USA, for 4 months. From my research trajectory has already resulted 8 papers in scientific journals, three oral communication and 6 poster communications in national and international scientific meetings. My entire journey so far has allowed me to acquire research experience, more specifically in the area of Organic Chemistry, with the synthesis of Diketopyrrolopyrroles derivatives with potential application in dye-sensitized solar cells, as well as, considering their characteristics, in biological applications. This path allowed me to develop my organizational, autonomy and teamwork skills.
