M. Pereira achieved a Degree in Acoustic Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Maria in 2016 and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Coimbra in 2020. During the Ph.D., the candidate performed 2 Short Term Scientific Mission DENORMS at the University of Alicante, entitled respectively: "Experimental evaluation and incorporation in equivalent fluid models of macroscopic parameters characterizing granular materials for noise control," and "Metaporous Concrete." In addition, the candidate worked as a researcher at the project Development of Meta&Smart-Materials at UC. The scientific work developed over the last five years resulted in the publication of 4 papers in high-impact journals and 14 papers in reference to international conferences.
