Margarida Pereira Martins é Doutorada em Literatura e Cultura de Expressão Inglesa (2016) pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa e professora auxiliar no Departamento de Humanidades da Universidade Aberta. A sua formação inicial é em Antropologia Social e História Antiga (1993-96), University College London, Londres e continuou os seus estudos no Mestrado em Literatura e Cultura Norte Americana (1998-99), Keele University, Keele, Reino Unido. Enquanto investigadora integrada de Centro de Estudos Anglísticos da Universidade de Lisboa (CEAUL), tem-se dedicado ao projeto RHOME (Representations of Home) do grupo de investigação (GI4) "Outras Literaturas e Culturas de Expressão Inglesa" com investigação na área dos estudos pós-coloniais e literatura de expressão inglesa do subcontinente Indiano. As sua áreas de pesquisa incluem literaturas e culturas de expressão inglesa, diáspora, estudos pós-coloniais, descolonização, língua e didática de língua.
