Carlos Martins (CM) is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) since 2013 (with "aggregation" since 2021). He is a medical doctor (Institute of Biomedical Sciences Abel Salazar of University of Porto, 1996) and a Doctorate in Clinical and Health Services Research from FMUP (2014). CM is an integrated researcher at the Center for Health Technology and Services Research (CINTESIS), where is the investigator principal of the group Health for All. This group's mission is to develop high-quality research in the field of General and Family Medicine (GFM) in the context of the Portuguese National Health Service and, whenever possible, in collaboration with international institutions. CM is also Coordinator of the Center for GFM and family doctor at the CUF Institute in Porto. Carlos Martins is an apologist for sharing and disseminating knowledge and good habits, both in clinical practice and in research work. The work he has developed in favor of communication between peers in the area of General and Family Medicine is remarkable. CM is the creator of the MG Familiar and Dr. Share portals, through which he shares useful, actual, and relevant information in the area of Health and organizes several webinars and courses. He also developed different mobile applications, namely, MGFamiliar app, Pregnancy Calculator, ICPC-2, SOAP Notes, and Family Assessment, for iOS and Android). CM also had a biweekly presence in a RTP program, where he addressed topics on Health Education (2008-17). He has experience as supervisor (16 students: 6 PhD/10 MSc). CM has co-authored 28 peer reviewed papers and 1 book (Publons h-index 8). His research was recognized by national and international organizations: 3 awards (Associação Portuguesa de Medicina Geral e Familiar and European General Practice Research Network - EGPRN). CM is also President of EUROPREV - European Network for Prevention and Health Promotion in Family Medicine and General Practice, since 2018 and Representative of the Portuguese Association of General and Family Medicine at EUROPREV. Recently, CM is creating the Pluridisciplinary Group of Primary Health Care at Department of Community Medicine, Health Information and Decision (MEDCIDS/FMUP).
