Rosa Perestrelo is a Senior Researcher at Madeira Chemistry Research Centre (CQM, https://cqm.uma.pt/) research unit. She got her degree in Chemistry from the University of Madeira (UMa) and her Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (specialization in Analytical Chemistry) from UMa in 2013. She is co-authored more than 100 papers in an international journal with impact factor (h-index: 32; Number of citations: 4428; Google Scholar); is co-author of 8 book chapters, and presented over 150 Communications (oral, proceedings, and poster) in International and National scientific Conferences. In the last 5 years, I published 59 SCI papers (13 of which I am the corresponding author, and 16 of which I am the first author), which represent around 49 % of the total SCI papers published. Furthermore, she is involved in the supervision of doctoral thesis, master thesis, supervised internship, academic degrees jury participation, and events organization. Her research interests are mainly focused on the development of miniaturization extraction techniques with application in food analysis namely on food bioactive and secondary metabolites, food molecular markers, and food authenticity. Moreover, has developed projects supported on OMIC platforms, like as metabolomics, proteomics, volatomics, as useful tools to establish potential cancer biomarkers. She is a regular referee of several scientific journals, including Foods, Molecules, Beverages, Food Chemistry, Food Research International, Journal of Bioanalysis & Biomedicine; among others (publons.com/a/1217277/). She was Guest Editor of Special Issues in Molecules (MDPI); Foods (MDPI), and Metabolites (MDPI), and was included in the list of Highly Cited Researchers worldwide, falling within TOP 2% in my research field for the single-year impact, 2021, 2022, and 2023 (Stanford University). In addition, she also was involved in R&D projects financed by different agencies.
