Hélder Telo serves as an appointed research fellow at PRAXIS - Centre for Philosophy, Politics and Culture (University of Beira Interior, Portugal), where he conducts a research project on care and truth in Plato, Heidegger and Foucault. He earned his PhD in Philosophy at the Nova University of Lisbon (2018) with the thesis "Unexamined Life on Trial: A Crucial Problem in Plato's Writings". As a part of his doctoral studies, he conducted research at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (2009-10 and 2014) and at Boston College (2010-11). His primary areas of interest include metaphilosophy, truth, care, and emotions. He has published articles and book chapters on various philosophers, such as Plato, Aristotle, the Stoics, Scheler and Heidegger. He is co-editor of the book "In the Mirror of the Phaedrus" (Academia, 2014), the forthcoming "Hadot and Foucault on Ancient Philosophy: Critical Assessments" (Brill, 2024) and the ongoing collection "Filosofia e Valores" ("Philosophy and Values", Edições 70).
