Ana Filipa Martins de Almeida holds a Bachelor in Genetics and Biotechnology from University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (Vila Real, Portugal, 2015) and a Master’s in Molecular Genetics from University of Minho (Braga, Portugal, 2018). During her master, she focused on the critical role of oncogenic KRAS in colorectal cancer giving her expertise in biology and biotechnology and interest to understand complex disease mechanisms at the cellular and molecular levels. She holds company experience working in the multinational drug discovery company Synovo, in Germany, screening immuno-oncology agents for pharmaceutical applications. She decided to continue her academic path and is currently developing her PhD in Tissue Engineering, Regenerative Medicine, and Stem Cells in a world renown institute for TERM, exploring magnetic nanocarriers' impact on tendon healing in inflammatory conditions. A substantial part of her PhD was performed in collaboration with the School of Infection and Immunity from University of Glasgow (Scotland, United Kingdom). She is familiar with several biomaterials processing techniques and cell culture methodologies. Also, she is an autonomous operator for (RT-)PCR, histology, and microscopy instruments. She is particularly interested in platforms to predict in vivo responses and in reprograming tools for guided therapies using precision and personalized approaches. She is author of 9 full papers in international refereed journals, 4 communications and 12 participations in national/international conferences. Scientifically, the outcomes of her research have contributed to insights in materials science and cell biology in the musculoskeletal tissue engineering and regenerative medicine field.
