Anna Garriga is a researcher in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain and collaborates with the Centro de Biotecnologia dos Açores (CBA) of Universidade dos Açores where I developed two years of my post-doctoral research. In 2021, I finished my Biodiversity PhD in the biological control of Drosophila suzukii with entomopathogenic nematodes. During the project, infectivity assessment of the pest was performed with different nematode species in larval, pupal, and adults staged alongside semi-field experiments. In parallel, the immune system of the fly was evaluated along the nematode infection with physiological and molecular procedures. During my doctoral cycle, two international stages in University of Insubria (Italy) and Universidade dos Açores (Portugal) were completed to develop a multidisciplinary profile. I have experience in laboratory and field experiments for biological control, and molecular and bioinformatic analysis for biodiversity assessment of both insects and nematodes.
