Carla Oliveira is graduated in Mathematics, has a post-graduation in Mathematics Applied to Biological Sciences, a MSc in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Public Health by the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto. Carla began her professional career in 2002 as professor of mathematics and conducted research in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (INEB) of the University of Porto since 2007; in the Institute of Public Health (ISPUP) between 2010 and 2016, and at the Institute of Health Research (i3s) of the University of Porto since 2015. During her PhD Carla was a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences of Exeter University (UK). Carla is lecturer in statistics in the department of biomathematics, biostatistics and bioinformatics at the Health School of the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ESS-IPP) since 2014, being responsible for pedagogical activities, scientific activities, and management activities, and researcher at INEB-i3S since 2007, being responsible for scientific activities, consulting and advisor on statistics area. Carla Oliveira is Statistician at Blueclinical - Research and Development in Health, Ltd since 2014 being responsible to perform biostatistics and programming activities for clinical projects on a range of different therapeutic areas since study set up to study lock. Her main responsibilities concern the development of project analysis plan, including computer generated table specifications, statistical analysis plan and research report format. She also contributes to the definition of the study design and develops statistical section of Clinical Study Protocols. She performs all her duties with compliance with applicable, ethical and regulatory requirements, applicable Standard Operating Procedures and business ethics. Carla Oliveira has more than 15 years of experience in statistics school education, more than 10 years of experience as a researcher within statistical area applied to health and epidemiology, more than 5 years of experience in industry as a biostatistician within clinical trial area and authored of several scientific publications and oral communications.
