Marieta Passos (MP) graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences, from Univ. of Porto (UP) in 2003. She completed her MSc in Environmental Analytical Chemistry in the same university and with the collaboration of Univ. of Aberdeen in 2005. In 2010 she obtained her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a specialization in Analytical Chemistry from the UP. In 2011, she was a research fellow, of the FCT founded project (PTDC/QUI-QUI/101058/2008), in the area of chemical synthesis. Between April of 2011 and March of 2017, MP had a postdoctoral fellow at the associate laboratory LAQV/REQUIMTE, UP. She moved from postdoctoral research to a researcher position at the same institution between June 2017 and October 2022 and then to an assistant researcher position in November 2022 under the scope of a CEEC individual grant (DOI: 10.54499/2021.00921.CEECIND/CP1662/CT0005). During her research career, she has been working in the development of automatic systems, using the sequential injection analysis technique. The association of this technique with enzymes and ionic liquids, or in the synthesis of nanoparticles have been a constant parameter in her work. In addition, the immobilization of enzymes and nanoparticles in silica solid supports has also been present in the developed research work. This research resulted in a total of 43 papers and a book chapter (including 6 review articles, (Anal. Chim. Acta, 2015, DOI:10.1016/j.aca.2015.05.052)) published in nanotechnology, analytical and pharmaceutical chemistry top journals (ex: TrAC Trends Anal. Chem. (12.296 IF), Coordin. Chem. Rev (14.499 IF), ACS Sust. Chem. Eng. (6.970 IF), and Chem.Commun., (6.718 IF)). From these 43 papers, 38 were published after her PhD, and from these, 15 were published in the last 5 years. Of these 15, 3 were published as first author, and 11 as corresponding. 70% of them were published in journals with an impact factor higher than 3, including 10% higher than 12 (JCR). She has collaborated as reviewer for different scientific journals (Luminescence, Talanta, J. Nanomed. Nanotechnol., Food Control, Bioorg. Chem., Measurement, Microchem. J., Spectrochim. Acta, Molecules, J. Science: Adv. Mater. Dev., J. of Mol. Liquids). MP took part in 29 national and 38 international communications (one of them awarded as the best short oral communication). She also participated in the organization of 2 international and 1 national conferences. MP participated as team member in 9 funded projects; 2 QREN (NORTE- 07-0162-FEDER-000124 and NORTE- 07-0124-FEDER-000067) 4 by FCT (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-030163, PTDC/QUI-QUI/101058/2008, UIDP/QUI/50006/2020 and UIDP/QUI/50006/2020), and 3 funded by UP (PP-IJUP2011-144; 183; IPG87). MP has a large experience in international research groups from Europe and South America (Federal University of Bahia, Brazil; State University of Bahia, Brazil; University of Aberdeen, Scotland; and Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain). MP has supervised 16 international students under Erasmus Program or other protocols between UP and international universities, 17 students from the Faculty of Pharmacy of UP, including 4 students of Project I from the Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2 from the Master in Quality Control, and 11 on their scientific initiation. She also supervised 4 junior researchers (including 2 international) and a BSc student from another Portuguese institution. Now, she is supervising 2 PhD student in Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is teaching laboratorial classes of Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and General and Inorganic Chemistry from the Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences and has been regularly invited to collaborate in the laboratorial classes of Chemical and Physical Control (from 2005/06 to 2006/07) and Instrumental Methods of Analysis (from 2007/08 to 2022/23) in the master of Quality Control, and Toxicology Analysis Methods (from 2016/17 to 2022/23) in the Master of Analytical Clinical and Forensic Toxicology.
