Ângela M Ribeiro is an evolutionary biologist (MSc 2003, Ph.D. 2011) is fascinated with the amazing biodiversity in the planet. In her research she explored two avenues: i) the nexus organism-environment, with a very keen interest in understanding the mechanisms that facilitate local adaptation to extreme conditions, and ii) the nexus human-nature and its role in the pro-environmental attitudes and behaviour. Her work overarches evolution, ecology, ornithology, physiology and ethnobiology. Currently, she is a full-time researcher at NUTRIR, CISAS - IPVC, Portugal. Prior, she moved through diverse scientific communities (Portugal, Spain, South Africa, USA, Denmark). All these experiences allowed for fruitful collaborations with scientists from different disciplines and have contributed to her versatility. She has 21 SCI articles + 2 preprints: 17 in Q1 journals, 13 as first author, 10 as corresponding author. She has also participated in several science divulgation and environmental education projects, as author/co-author : 10 books/ebooks , 1 book chapter, 16 exhibitions, an ongoing trimestral contribution the Peneda-Gerês magazine.
