Fernanda Maria Fernandes Roleira has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto and is currently a Professor and Researcher at the Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Coimbra. She is also Coordinator of the Paul Ehrlich MedChem Euro-PhD Network for the University of Coimbra. Her research interests focus on the area of Medicinal Chemistry and her entire career was related to the discovery of new molecules with biological activity, namely steroidal aromatase inhibitors, with interest in the treatment of estrogen-dependent breast cancer and phenolic cinnamic acid derivatives, with interest as antioxidants, anticancer and anti-inflammatories. In this context, she submitted a national and an international patent, published 4 book chapters, 60 articles in scientific journals with reviewers (3 of which in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry), with 2592 citations (WoS) and 2903 citations (Scopus), 26 abstracts in scientific journals with reviewers and 5 proceedings. She also delivered 46 oral communications as an author or co-author and presented 112 poster communications. She was a reviewer of several scientific articles (8 of which in the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry), supervised 4 PhD students and several master students. She also supervised several international SEP and Erasmus students. She participated in 4 scientific projects, 9 national and international PhD juries, and 12 Master's juries.
