Ana Rita Lima Pinheiro holds a master's degree in Health Sciences taken at the School of Medicine and a bachelor's in Applied Biology at the School of Sciences, both from the University of Minho. Works in the area of Biological Sciences with an emphasis on Health Sciences. AP was enrolled in a malaria field project, in the School of Medicine of the University of Minho, which focused on antimalarials mode of action and resistance mechanisms screening. She also attended the Laboratory Animal Science course that follows the recommendations of FELASA (Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations) with the category C.Nowadays. AP had a research fellow in the project "MalPharm - A genetic sensors-based highthroughput screening platform for antimalarial development". Following up the MalPharm project, AP is now a research fellow in the project "Mechanisms of action and resistance to the antimalarial Purydrazide", both under the supervision of Doctor Pedro Ferreira. The project is to deeply explore the group of drugs that showed up as potential candidates for antimalarials, Purydrazides. The aim is to identify novel drugable targets in P. falciparum with the ability to delay drug resistance development.
