Constantino Piçarra is a manager and senior technician at the company Dialogoriginal, Bibliotecas, Museus e Arquivos, Lda., in which capacity he is carrying out the restructuring of the museological project for the Museum of Rurality in the municipality of Castro Verde and is coordinating the work of inventorying and cataloguing the archives of the Farmers' Union of this municipality. He is a researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History at NOVA/FCSH. He has a degree in History from the Faculty of the University of Lisbon (1983), a Specialisation Course in Documentary Sciences from the same Faculty (1996) and a University Diploma of Specialisation in Educational Sciences (DUECE), in the area of "Evaluation in Education", from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He completed a teaching internship at the Beja School of Education (1986/88), a master's degree in 19th - 20th century history (2000) from the NOVA University Lisbon - School of Social and Human Sciences (NOVA FCSH) and a PhD in Contemporary History from the same school, with a thesis on the revolution and counter-revolution in the Portuguese countryside in 1975 - 1977 (2022). His research interests centre on the agrarian question in the Portuguese 20th century, the social struggles in the countryside in the same period and the revolutionary process that followed 25 April 1974.
