I am an ecologist. I have completed my PhD in Marine Biology in 2006/04 at Rhodes University (South Africa) and have obtained my Laurea in Biological Sciences in 2000/02 by Università degli Studi di Genova (Italy). I am an Associated Researcher at U.Caen-BOREA in France and I have an honorary position as Researcher at Rhodes University. I have published 1 book chapter and 73 articles in journals, most of which in high impact factor journals such as Global Change Biology, The American Naturalist and BMC Biology I have mentored Honours (3), MSc (10) and PhD (2 plus 2 in progress) students as well as undergraduates (1 BSc) and I am recurrently invited to give seminars (4) and to be part of jury of academic degree (5) and evaluation committee for international funds (2). I have received 4 awards. I have participated as Principal investigator in 4 projects (one of which just started) and as Researcher in 8 projects.
