2017/05/17 - 2017/05/19 | I was in charge of organising the social events and performances for the INVTUR'17 International Conference. On a very limited
budget, I used personal contacts to arrange a beautiful contemporary ballet group, a fado musician and a piano performance
to occur during the conference. At the Gala Dinner, I arranged for a jazz duo to perform and then had a live band and modern
folk dancing group come and invite people to dance with them, making it a great opportunity for everyone to unwind after a

I was the main person in charge of organising a PhD workshop for 50 international and national PhD students, including mentoring
sessions with international and national experts and 3 interactive, 'world cafe' style sessions (Research Hacks, Innovative
Methodologies and Publishing 'Top Tips'). I dealt with programming, correspondence with experts, reviewing candidates' extended

trends. This was an international forum with keynote speeches, participant presentations and interactive discussions to showcase
trends of economic growth strategies and gender equality within the future tourism labour force. This event also disseminated

Transport modes, intermodality, sustainable methods of transport, hyper-mobility and other contemporary issues within tourism transport, were introduced to students, using a variety of media, e.g. videos, book chapters and articles. Two guest lecturers came to speak to students. Students were encouraged to use online materials, debate, and work in groups. Two fieldwork assignments allowed students to practice research methods (e.g. interviewing) and presentation skills.
