Maria do Rosário Ferreira holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Aveiro, during which she developed a keen interest in neuroscience. She decided to pursue this interest at the University of Coimbra, from which she graduated in 2024 with a master's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a specialization in Neuroscience. During the first year of her master's, she was awarded a Gulbenkian New Talents Scholarship in Biology, a valuable contribution to the beginning of her scientific career. During her master's thesis, Maria do Rosário Ferreira worked at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, Coimbra, where she acquired competencies in patch-clamp electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and scientific writing.
