I am a biologist with a Master's and Doctorate in Ecology from the Federal University of Ouro Preto and the University of Campinas, respectively. I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Florida and the University of Georgia, USA. My research interests are diverse and include: - Understanding how biotic and abiotic factors influence plant communities; - Testing the effectiveness of forest restoration in recovering ecosystem structure, diversity, and function/processes; - Using ecological indicators to monitor ecosystem health and restoration trajectories; - Combining data from different sources (data synthesis) to answer large-scale ecological questions; - Using distinct statistical methods to analyze ecological data; - Leveraging GIS to understand spatial patterns, trends, and relationships.
