Ahmed M. Abouelmaty, born in July 1990 in Egypt, completed his B.Sc. at AAST, Alexandria, Egypt (ABET-accredited university) in July 2012, achieving distinction with an honorary degree (CGPA 3.43/4.0). He obtained his M.Sc. degree from the same university in May 2015 with distinction (CGPA 3.94/4.0). He is a Ph.D. candidate at Porto University, Porto, Portugal. He submitted his PhD thesis for the final defense. During his master's thesis, his work focused on solving the problem of deterioration of the steel pile casing due to harsh environmental effects by using Tubular Concrete-Filled FRP Pile foundations and studying the modification effect on the seismic response of offshore structures. His Ph.D. thesis focuses on the vibrations induced by the pile driving process and mitigation measures side by side doing an experimental test site. In parallel, Ahmed starts his professorial career as an assistant lecturer in AAST from 2013 to 2019. Between 2020 and July 2022, Ahmed worked as a researcher fellowship in the FCT (the Portuguese National Funding Agency for Science, research, and Technology) project VIPIB under grant number PTDC/ECI-CON/29634/2017. In August 2022, FCT ranked Ahmed in the second position among 118 international comparators in the " 2022 Call for Ph.D. Studentships Regular line in scientific and academic institutions ", and he obtained a fund for three years. From November 2023 until March 2024, Ahmed was a visiting researcher in TU-Delft, Delft, Netherlands, for a project focused on explicit numerical analysis (LS-Dyna, Ansys) for mono-pile under the driving process with an industrial partner.
