MARIA DO ROSÁRIO VEIGA is a Civil Engineer by Technical University of Lisbon since 1981 and has a Ph.D by the University of Porto since 1997. She is Senior Researcher at LNEC, being since 2010 the Head of Building Coatings and Insulation Service and of the Unity of wall renderings testing. At LNEC, she works in consultancy work for external entities and she participates/has participated in more than 10 national and international competitive research projects having coordinated four of them. She is an expert on wall coverings materials and performance requirements and she develops studies on the design of sustainable, durable and compatible mortars and wall coverings including for conservation of historic heritage and on treatment and consolidation solutions. She is or has been a member of European groups for the preparation of Guides for European Technical Approval since 1991 and also participates or has participated in four RILEM Committees. She supervises or has supervised about 20 Ph.D thesis and many Master Thesis. She is a member of the Directive Board of the Ph.D Program financed by FCT – Eco-Construction and Rehabilitation (EcoCoRe), since its first edition in 2014 until present. She is the author of many papers published in Proceedings of Congresses and in national and international scientific journals, including about 100 articles in indexed scientific journals and 16 books/chapters of books. She interacted with more 200 collaborator(s) co-authors of scientific papers.
