In 2015, I graduated from Universidade Nova de Lisboa with a BSc in Biochemistry. The course gave me theoretical basis in cellular and molecular biology, microbiology, enzymology, physiology, organic and inorganic chemistry. The practical training of my BSc gave me experience with a wide range of laboratory techniques. In my last year of graduation, I performed a research project in Molecular Medicine Institute (IMM), which allowed me to work and develop a project independently in the laboratory. I completed my MSc in Biopharmaceutical Sciences in October of 2017, at the Faculty of Pharmacy from Universidade de Lisboa. In my master thesis I was focus on finding new necroptosis modulators and applying them in therapeutics. My main scientific interests focus on the discovery and development of novel therapies as also Genetic engineering tools. In this regard, I am very interested in exploring new or potential therapeutic targets or other ways to prevent disease. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying several diseases, other molecular pathways and validating new therapeutic options at the pre-clinical level is also a major goal. I worked as a Tutor due to my interest in education. I tutored students from basic school to college, in the subjects of Mathematic, Physics and Chemistry, Biology and Geology and Natural Sciences as other Curricular Units in Higher Education. Since June 2019 I started working in a scientific fellowship at iBimed, Universidade de Aveiro, in the project ¿Biology of RNA modifications¿, where I worked with yeast in protein aggregation. I started my PhD continuing this project, trying to better understand how tRNA modifications and modifying enzymes affect the translation and protein aggregation, leading to Human Disease. During my free time, I am an amateur musician and a member of an Ultimate Frisbee team, Leiria Flying Objects, LFO, helping both in several projects, including the European project "Villages on the Move".
