Thiago Assis Dutra is an Assistant Professor at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Covilhã, Portugal. He holds a Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), Brazil. He also holds a M.Sc. in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), Brazil, and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), Brazil. Throughout his career in the private sector, he had the opportunity to participate in different I&RD projects related to the development of new products, including design, analysis, and manufacturing. Research interests include computational analyses, micromechanics of materials, high-performance composites, additively manufactured structures, and renewable materials for sustainable design. Techniques include computational homogenization, automated image analysis, automated design process, and experimental characterization.
